Why I shoot the streets as a corporate photographer…

As a corporate and commercial photographer, my main focus has always been on capturing images for businesses and organisations that help them showcase their products, services, and people in the best possible light. Over the years, I have honed my skills in portrait photography, event photography, and product photography, among other genres building a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work.

For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to a genre of photography that is seemingly unrelated to my corporate and commercial work - street photography. At first glance, it may seem like an odd choice for a corporate photographer to shoot images of strangers on the streets, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

I enjoy the technical and artistic challenges of corporate photography, I normally shoot to a client brief. Sometimes I can have flexibility within that, others times it’s a very tight brief.  Street photography allows me to step outside of my comfort zone into a new genre and challenge myself both creatively and personally. Creatively it has has sparked new ideas and approaches that I've been able to bring to my corporate photography, injecting fresh energy and creativity into my work. Personally, it’s putting me into uncomfortable situations and learning how to deal with them, situations that I’d normally shy away from.

By exploring new genres and pushing the boundaries of my work, I am able to continue growing, adapting and evolving as a photographer, ultimately benefiting the clients I serve.
