My Career as a Getty Images Stock Photographer
As well as being a commercial / corporate photographer I also shot stock pictures for Getty Images which was a fascinating chapter in my career. It gave me the opportunity to push creative boundaries while honing a unique skill set (sorry sounds a bit like Liam Neeson in Taken)—capturing universal yet compelling moments that resonate across industries, audiences, and cultures. Unlike client-specific work, creating for Getty demanded a different mindset: producing images that were both commercially appealing and conceptual, while still maintaining artistic integrity.

Industrial Photography at Harland & Wolff: Navigating Drone Logistics in Belfast
As a commercial photographer, my days are filled with creating compelling images that speak for brands, tell stories, and capture the attention of modern audiences. But every so often, I find it refreshing and necessary to look back—back to the early days of my journey and those moments that shaped my path in photography. That’s why I’m excited to kick off Flashback Friday, a space where I’ll share images from my archives, dive into the stories behind them, and reflect on how those moments influenced the photographer I am today.
My Creative Philosophy as a Corporate Photographer
Ultimately, what drives me is the idea that my photos help shape how a company is perceived by the world.

Industrial Photography Case Study: Long-Term Partnerships with repeat clients
In the world of commercial photography (indeed any business), building lasting relationships with clients is an art form that goes beyond capturing stunning images. Repeat customers are the lifeblood of any successful photography business, and for good reason. As a commercial photographer, the value of cultivating these ongoing partnerships cannot be overstated.

AI vs Copyright: Why Intellectual Property Matters in Professional Photography
As a working photographer AI has brought some benefits, in the likes of some of the software that I use, the best known being photoshop. Also there are plenty of doomsday theories out there, one of which is that “50% of all scientists involved in AI, believe that there is a 10% chance that AI could be the end of us” That helps me sleep easy in my bed!
How Street Photography Sharpens My Edge as a Corporate Photographer
For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to a genre of photography that is seemingly unrelated to my corporate and commercial work - street photography. At first glance, it may seem like an odd choice for a corporate photographer to shoot images of strangers on the streets, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

What is Commercial Photography? A Guide for Businesses in Northern Ireland
A great Commercial photographer can bring a lot of value and knowledge to a project, they understand business, people, marketing strategies and how best to achieve the best possible outcome for your brief. Of course the more you work with a photographer the better and easier this process becomes. For instance it’s better to have a shoot list prepared in advance, shared and discussed with the photographer rather than relying on the scattergun approach.

Photography and my fear of heights...
I try to face my fears head on when possible. In this case its a psychological barrier and not a physical one. Many people in our world over come significantly bigger problems than mine. But this is still one I need to come too terms with.
Going up…
It’s always great to be on the ground floor of a new project when it comes to the photography aspect.
